    Dear,

Let’s situate a little our ORC research.

From Oct 1st 2007 till Dec 31 2009 we executed a “TETRA “ research project called “Waste heat recovery by Organic Rankine Cycle on renewable energy applications”
TETRA means TEchnology TRAnsfer. So we don’t have to develop new technology but look for ORC applications. Because of the support by “Green certificates” we first focused on renewable applications.
    We evaluated some case studies:
    – ORC on 3 x 1,1 MW landfill gas engines
    – ORC on 2 x 1 MW biogas engines
    – ORC on a small (250 kW) bio oil engine
    – ORC on grate cooling of a biomass furnace

From Jan 1st 2010 to Dec 31th 2012 we’ve a second project focused on industrial non renewable waste heat (11 case studies). This is a ERA-SME project with the Ghent University and Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences (Germany) as research partners.
This projects are 92,5% granted by the Flemish government, the rest is cofinanced by industrial partners (about 40 within the second project).

    What about a presentation ?
Supply presentations on international congresses is not a mean goal within our projects and also not for me of my team members because we’re not PhD students and undergo no pressure to publicate or to give presentations. In addition, we’ve to spread technological knowledge about ORC in Flanders. But our policy is that we easily can attend congresses if we can contribute with a presentation.
As we’re not executing specific research, we don’t have a specific subject (paper) to present.
So what I can propose is:
    – Overview of ORC technology, with attention of the differences with a steam cycle
    – Results of the case studies on renewable applications (f.i. biogas and landfill gas engines)
    – Market overview of ORC with specific applications or references (can be focused on biomass applications as we visited installations from 3 different constructors)
If some of this fits in your program I can deliver an abstract.

So please let me know soon if we can deliver “added value” to your congress.

    Kind regards,
    Bruno Vanslambrouck
