Default Claverton ltd

In response to legitimate concerns that we could collectively be sued if someone made an unauthorized slanderous / public statement, I have registered a public company Claverton Energy Ltd, which is deemed to be the owner of the Claverton Group brand.

This will hold all members safe from a collective law suit as they will only be able to sue the company not you.

I am sorry to say we have gone the standard route and not the limited liability partnerships since neither I nor my accountant were clever enough to understand what it meant.

We have ignored the charity route since that seems to be full of pitfalls.

This mean I think we should have some directors - basically this means people who are prepared to work hard for very little thanks, but a warm glow of knowing they are doing something good.

Any suggestions as to what directors we need, and who they should be?

Here's my list:

IT director - Ben Kemp
Media public relations - ?
Technical Director - gives learned final opinions - Bernard Quigg
Transition Director - moves people and old but useful Yahoo stuff to the new forum
Finance Director - writes to large companies soliciting sponsorship
Membership Director - obvious

Etc

Lets have your views.

Thanks

Default Legal advice

We have been fortunate enough to have had informal legal advice from some very highly based barristers, that it is extremely unlikely that the group could be held collectively responsible for any slanderous / libelous statements - this is not a group with collective responsibility.
